It was a Red, White and Blue themed extravagnaza on Friday, June 26th on Fox 61. Think must try food, beverages and activities for a fun and memorable Fourth of July. The Fourth is on a Friday this year, so get ready for a party! Here are some ideas and essentials that made my Holiday Hype Man hot list this year. Kouign Bakery, Wallingford, CT
This is owner Chelsea's first July 4th celebration at the bakery and they are very excited to have these patriotic offerings. Everything is made from scratch here. You just can't go wrong.
They are taking orders until July 1st. Please choose one pick up day and come on that day. Pick up hours will be 9 am- 2 pm on Thursday, July 3rd & Friday, July 4th.

Directions:
To make a batch of Red, White and You:
16oz bottle Fresh Victor Cactus Pear & Pomegranate
16oz bottle Fresh Victor Mexican Lime & Agave
Fill one of the empty 16oz bottles with spirit of choice
Add all three to a 64-96 oz pitcher
Fill with ice, stir well, and pour over ice in tall glasses.
Garnish: blueberries tossed in powdered sugar
Ice: cube or crushed
Glass: tall

Shanks- Clinton, CT
Shanks Waterfront Dining is a food boat in Clinton, about a 50 minute drive from Hartford. Orders are placed at the boat. They are BYOB, now with no fee. They will provide an ice bucket, corkscrew/bottle opener, plastic wine glasses, etc. All food is freshly prepared and they are pet friendly. (Pet seating is on the lower level only.)

We used their hot dogs to create this fun flag platter!

Ingredients:
Approximately 13 cooked hot dogs and the same number of buns
I used Martin Rosol’s!
(This will vary based on the size of your serving platter)
Blue corn tortilla chips
White American Cheese
A small star cookie cutter
Directions:
1. Place your cooked hot dogs in buns on your rectangular serving platter, leaving a small rectangular section in the upper left corner for your chips.
2. Place your blue corn tortilla chips in the upper left corner.
3. Using a small star cut out, make your white american cheese stars and place them on top of the chips
4. Ketchup is optional
